A heavy sleeper sleeps through a ringing phone, then wakes smiling to the band vibrating on his wrist.

How Sidewake works

Your alarm should wake you. Not the whole house.

A phone alarm rings across the room, for everyone. Sidewake vibrates on your wrist instead, so the alarm is on you and nothing rings in the room.

The problem

Why a ringing alarm lets you down

A phone alarm has one way to reach you: noise. And noise doesn't stop at your side of the bed.

Before dawn, a woman is woken by her partner's phone alarm while he sleeps on.
  • It rings across the room

To reach you from the bedside table, it has to be loud. So it reaches everyone else too.

  • It wakes the wrong person

A partner on a later start, a flatmate through a thin wall, a baby in the next room: they all hear it.

  • Snooze, snooze, snooze

Heavy sleepers set five alarms, five minutes apart. Everyone else hears all five.

  • Earplugs in, hearing aids out

Sleep with earplugs, or take your hearing aids out at night? Then a sound has further to go before it reaches you.

The fix isn't a louder alarm. It's a closer one.

The difference a buzz makes

Same alarm time. A very different morning.

A ringing alarm

Your phone

  • Rings across the room
  • Reaches whoever hears it first
  • Five alarms, five minutes apart
  • Notifications the moment you pick it up

A buzz on your wrist

Sidewake

  • Vibrates on your wrist, right where you are
  • Nothing rings in the room
  • Stays with you when you roll over
  • No phone in your hand when you wake

Not silent, just quiet: up close you'll hear a soft buzz, and the button gives a small click.

The solution

One band. One button. Your alarm.

Everything Sidewake does, and nothing it doesn't.

A finger presses the button of the black band, the display lit at 06:30.
  • Vibrating alarm

Up to 3 daily alarms. At your alarm time it buzzes on your wrist; press the button to stop it.

  • Up to 14 days per charge

Pop the display out of the strap and plug it straight into any USB-A port. No cable needed; a UK USB plug isn't included.

  • Dark while you sleep

The display stays off at night and lights up in bright white when you press the button.

  • Light enough to sleep in

Soft silicone, about 18 g, no metal buckle. Fits wrists from about 12 to 19 cm.

  • Splash-resistant (IP65)

Sweat, rain and hand-washing are fine. Take it off for showers, baths and swimming.

  • No app, no Bluetooth

Nothing to pair and no notifications. It also shows the time and date, counts your steps and has a stopwatch.

  • Black or white

Pick a colour for each band: one for each side of the bed.

Sidewake is an alarm, not a medical device. It doesn't track sleep.

Who is it for?

Anyone who has to be up on time — and would rather feel it than hear it.

  • A man presses the black band on his wrist at 7:00 while his partner sleeps on, wearing her own white band.

    Couples on different alarms

One of you is up at 5:45 for work, the other isn't. The band buzzes one wrist, and nothing rings on the other side of the bed.

  • A heavy sleeper sleeps through a ringing phone, then wakes smiling to the band vibrating on his wrist.

    Heavy sleepers

A phone alarm rings across the room. This one sits on your wrist, so the buzz is right where you are, whichever way you roll over.

  • A man in a high-visibility vest sits on the stairs before dawn and checks the black band on his wrist while the house sleeps.

    Early starts & shift workers

Up at 4:30 for the ward, the site or the first train? The buzz is on your wrist — no phone ringing in the dark.

  • A woman sits calmly on the edge of her bed looking at the white band on her wrist, her phone left on the desk.

    Calms ADHD mornings

A blaring alarm is a rough start to an ADHD morning. The band makes it a calmer one: a buzz on your wrist, no ringing, and no phone in your hand the moment you open your eyes.

  • Before dawn, a father stops the black band on his wrist, a baby monitor on the bedside table.

    Flatmates & new parents

A flatmate through a thin wall, a baby asleep in the next room? The alarm stays on your wrist: nothing rings through the house.

  • A man in his 60s checks the band on his wrist, his hearing aids in their case on the bedside table, his wife asleep.

    Hearing aids out at night

Your hearing aids are in their case and the phone is across the room. The band doesn't need to be heard: you feel it on your wrist.

This band is an alarm, not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose or treat any condition.

How it works

  1. A finger presses the button of the black band, the display lit at 06:30.

    1. Set it

Hold the button for 3 seconds, then set the time and up to 3 alarms.

  2. A wrist wearing the black band rests on a pillow at night.

    2. Wear it to bed

Snug on your wrist, display on top. At about 18 g, it's light enough to sleep in.

  3. A young woman in a small flat bedroom wakes to the white band on her wrist, its display showing 06:15.

    3. Wake to a buzz

At your alarm time, it vibrates on your wrist. Press the button to stop it.

  • 3 daily alarms
  • 14 days max per charge
  • 18 g about, strap included

Real mornings, real reviews

Quick answers

Will it actually wake me?

That's what it's for. It vibrates right on your wrist, so the alarm is on you, not across the room — even when you roll over. Wear it snug, display on top, and you feel the alarm instead of hearing it.

Will it wake my partner?

It doesn't ring and it doesn't shake the bed: the vibration stays on your wrist. Up close you'll hear a soft buzz, and the button gives a small click — nothing like a phone alarm going off across the room.

Is it comfortable to sleep in?

Soft silicone, about 18 g, with no metal buckle and no hard case. Wear it snug, not tight.

How do I charge it?

Pop the display out of the strap and plug it straight into any USB-A port: a laptop, a power bank or a USB plug. No cable needed. If it doesn't charge, turn it over and plug it in again.

A full charge lasts up to 14 days. A UK USB plug is not included.

Can I shower or swim with it?

No. It's splash-resistant (IP65): sweat, rain and hand-washing are fine. Take it off for showers, baths and swimming. If the back gets wet, wipe it dry.
